NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced Administration Team as a Band 2 Audio Typist supporting clinicians through audio and copy typing, word processing, and general administrative support within the South Sector, based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The role is diverse, with daily challenges requiring initiative, confidentiality, attention to detail, and adherence to policies. A professional, confident, and proactive attitude is essential.

Main Duties:

  • Typing from audio dictation using WinScribe
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and safety
  • Inputting and managing data on Excel spreadsheets
  • Using Electronic Patient Records to type into templates
  • Liaising with colleagues and clinicians
  • Following up on missing data via phone calls
  • Sending electronic referrals
  • Problem solving audio issues
  • Searching EPR for information
  • Checking own typing for accuracy
  • Finalising letters according to SOPs
  • Printing letters following protocols
  • Including enclosures with correspondence
  • Managing and prioritising workload
