Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing a large and growing legal staff in the creditor's right and related areas of law.
  • Applying a strong understanding of applicable legal policies as well as federal and state regulatory issues.
  • Communicating with clients regarding current legal and regulatory issues and performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and adherence to court procedures and processes.
  • Working on special projects as required by the firm and clients.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Licensed to practice in Colorado
  • Complete knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of principles, practices and methods of creditor's rights and the legal process
  • Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework affecting the debt buying and debt collection industries including FDCPA, FCRA, GLBA and related state statutes.
  • Technologically adept, with familiarity with software including Cogent or similar systems a plus.
  • Ability to handle a high caseload effectively
  • Strong critical thinking and strategic skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team of attorneys and staff to develop strategies for a case
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Limited travel for court appearances and industry meetings

Work Schedule

This full-time position typically works Monday - Friday. Saturdays are dependent if that last day of the month falls on a weekend or a Saturday.
