THE ROLE
The Athletic Trainer prepares, treats and assesses athletes before and after games and maintains injury statistic logs. They liaise with coaches and coaching staff on the status of athletes and respond to enquiries regarding injured athletes. They recommend appropriate treatment and / or preventive actions to be taken by a Coach concerning their injured athletes.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Sports Injury Management or a related field AND some years of experience in injury management or in a related field
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Experience
In injury prevention and treatment techniques
In applying policies, procedures and regulations
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
