Job summary

Semtech's Signal Integrity Products (SIP) group in Burlington, ON, is seeking a hands-on lab technician to manage the ATE lab space, organize hardware and equipment, and perform calibration and preventative maintenance.

You will partner with equipment vendors and the Test Engineering team to support test setups and fault isolation, including PCB hardware fabrication at vendors, troubleshooting from schematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technician/technologist diploma in electrical/electronics.
• Lab experience around high speed measurement equipment or semiconductor test equipment.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team and meet aggressive project timelines.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the ATE lab space, organization of hardware and equipment, preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment. Partners with equipment vendors to achieve lab function and uptime. Partners with the Test Engineering team to support their development of test solutions; test setups, material control, debug of faults

Responsibilities:

• Supports engineering activities such as:
• Setup and support of remote users of test equipment
• Communication and support management of equipment vendors
• Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus
• Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
• Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Fabrication, BOM procurement and assembly of PCB hardware at our vendors.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, to support PCB hardware checkout and trouble-shooting functions.

Minimum Qualifications and skills required:

• Bachelor's Degree or Technician/Technologist Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or similar discipline. A combination of hands‑on work experience and education may be considered in lieu of exact education requirements
• Lab experience, particularly around high speed measurement equipment or semiconductor test equipment;
• Ability to work in a cross‑functional team and build relationships with peers in other disciplines;
• Capable of working to aggressive project timelines;

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $58,000 - $64,000 CAD.
