RSM is looking for an Assurance Senior Associate to join our non-profit assurance practice which specializes in serving a wide array of organizations, including nationally recognized trade and membership associations and large philanthropic foundations.Experience the personal satisfaction of being part of a team that helps non-profits position themselves to better achieve their mission and serve their members and constituents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely , high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating audits of complexfinancial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables

  • Develop an understanding of the client's businessand needs, and become a n industry specialist to understand client specific needs

  • Understand and utilize RSM’sGlobal Audit Methodology

  • Train and supervise Audit Associates on engagement teams and function as an in-charge facilitating field work by monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan schedules on each assignment

  • Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise

  • Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from client to audit teamand vice versais efficient

  • Identify and communicatesignificantaccounting and auditing matters tomanager/senior managerandpartner on engagement

  • Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as board communications, deficiency letters, management letters, etc.

  • Recognizeindustry-specific and general accounting and auditing issues, includingrevenue recognition, business combinations, debt and equity accounting, etc. Determine appropriate audit approach for such areas

  • Identify performance improvement opportunitiesfor team members

  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education

  • Willingness to travel25%of the year, depending on your clients

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university

  • 2 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment

  • Understanding of audit services with knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, and GAAS regulations

  • CPA Certification in good standing or demonstrated progress towards obtaining CPA certification, including required coursework

  • Demonstrateexperience andability toact asin-charge onengagements

  • Willingness to take supervision and guidance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

  • Must think critically and work well independently

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $58,500 - $94,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
