Assurance Manager, Private Client Services

RSM Canada is seeking an Assurance Manager to join our Private Client Services team. You will work as part of our national practice on diverse client engagements. Our clients include local, national, and internationally recognized companies. Our assurance professionals help companies improve performance through challenging business cycles.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide high-quality client service, including coordinating audit and review engagements, compilations of financial statements, disclosures, and other deliverables (including tax compliance).
  2. Assess risks and design procedures for engagement teams.
  3. Utilize RSM's review, compilation, and audit methodology.
  4. Manage multiple engagement teams and evaluate staff performance.
  5. Supervise engagement teams, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to work plans.
  6. Maintain client contact throughout the year to understand significant developments and their impact.
  7. Develop team members through training, advising on career development, and participating in firm initiatives.
  8. Stay informed on industry publications and share relevant insights with clients.
  9. Address client concerns proactively and escalate issues when necessary.
  10. Discuss potential service opportunities with clients and make introductions within the firm.
  11. Develop external relationships to foster business growth.
  12. Manage project profitability.
  13. Identify and communicate accounting and engagement issues to senior staff and partners.
  14. Identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  15. Ensure ongoing professional development.
  16. Keep updated on GAAP, GAAS, and firm standards and policies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent.
  • Active CPA designation in good standing.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS, with experience in compilation, review, audit, and tax services.
  • Proven ability to build profitable client relationships.
  • At least 4 years of team leadership experience overseeing multiple engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful track record of directing staff on multiple engagements.

Salary range: $78,000 - $132,500. Compensation reflects experience, skills, and location. Selected candidates are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
