RSM is seeking an Assurance Manager to join our Private Client Services team. You will work as part of a team on diverse client engagements within our national practice, serving local, national, and international companies. Our assurance professionals help companies improve performance through challenging business cycles.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality client service, including coordinating audit, review engagements, and compilations of financial statements, disclosures, and other deliverables (including tax compliance).
• Assess risk and communicate procedures to engagement teams.
• Utilize RSM’s review, compilation, and audit methodology.
• Manage multiple engagement teams and evaluate staff performance.
• Supervise engagement teams, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to work plans.
• Maintain client contact throughout the year to understand business developments and their impact on engagements.
• Develop team members through training and advising on career development.
• Stay informed on industry publications and share relevant insights with clients.
• Address client concerns proactively and escalate issues when necessary.
• Identify opportunities to introduce additional services to clients.
• Develop external relationships to support business growth.
• Manage project profitability and communicate engagement matters to senior management.
• Identify performance improvement opportunities and ensure ongoing professional development.
• Stay updated on GAAP and firm standards and policies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Active CPA designation in good standing.
• 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GAAS, with experience in audits, reviews, and tax services.
• Proven ability to build profitable client relationships.
• At least 4 years of team leadership or in-charge experience overseeing multiple engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful record of managing staff on multiple engagements simultaneously.
