Assurance Manager, Private Client Services

RSM is seeking an Assurance Manager to join our Private Client Services team. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse client engagements as part of our national practice, serving local, national, and international companies. Our assurance professionals help companies improve performance through challenging business cycles.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, timely client service, including coordinating audit, review engagements, and compilations of financial statements, disclosures, and other deliverables (such as corporate and personal income tax, trust income tax compliance).
  • Assess risks and design communication procedures for engagement teams.
  • Utilize RSM's review, compilation, and audit methodologies.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams and evaluate staff performance at the end of engagements.
  • Monitor and review work of Senior Associates and Supervisors, providing coaching as needed.
  • Supervise engagement teams and facilitate fieldwork, monitoring productivity and adherence to schedules.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with clients to understand significant developments and their impact on current engagements.
  • Support professional development through training, advising on career growth, and participating in firm initiatives.
  • Share industry insights by reading publications and discussing relevant information with clients.
  • Address client concerns proactively and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Promote firm services and identify opportunities for client introductions.
  • Develop external relationships with Centers of Influence to foster business growth.
  • Manage project profitability.
  • Communicate accounting and engagement matters to senior management and partners.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Ensure ongoing professional development and stay updated on GAAP and firm standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
  • Active CPA designation in good standing.
  • At least 5 years of recent experience in public accounting.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
  • Knowledge of compilation, review, audit, and tax services, with understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
  • Proven ability to build profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a team lead or in-charge role overseeing multiple staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful record of directing staff on multiple engagements.

Compensation Range: $78,000 - $132,500. Salary is reflective of experience, skills, and other factors. Selected candidates are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
