Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Promotions Planning, the Sr. Associate Promotions Planning collaborates with customers and the Manager, Demand Planning to plan inventories required for scheduled events activities. The incumbent works closely with the Manager, Promotions, Account Management and customers to determine the appropriate forecast volume related to a banner promotion, customer activity and events. Responsibilities include preparing relevant information for customers on item discrepancies and discontinued items, along with potential price issues related to promotional activity. The Sr. Associate, Promotions works with the Procurement Operations team and the Manager, Promotions to address inventory responsibility issues arising from under-performing or over-performing promotions, based on collaborative planning with customers and vendors.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

Exchanges information with the Buyer-Planner and Procurement Strategy teams as well as the vendors on new product launches and product phase outs to select comparable product proxy for increased forecast accuracy.

In collaboration with Account Management, customers and vendors, develops joint business plans including promotions to achieve the alignment on a single forecast number (SKU and aggregate).

Prepares assumption-based projections to help management team understand forecast rationale for vendor and customer negotiations.

Provides Distribution Center (DC) Operations with projections on DC capacity risks at aggregate levels, supporting on-time deployment of promotional inventory.

Event and Promotions Management (30%)

Creates promotional schedule and manages events that impact forecasts.

Monitors promotional inventory deployment with Account Management and customers, and support pre-promotion, promotion and post-promotion activities (including exit strategies) to address stock-outs, excesses and store exceptions.

Catalogs past promotions to track their impact and maintain visibility to baseline forecast versus promotional lift.

Validates and accepts prices changes and updates impacting promotions, including collaboration with Finance on bill-back.

Forecasting (30%)

Analyzes historical data and define key assumptions to generate statistical baseline forecast for all SKUs, categories, customers and location hierarchy levels.

Captures sales forecast and planned promotional lifts and identify market trends to adjust demand based on SKU selection and pricing, incorporating distinct promotional demand.

Generates a consensus-based event plan achieved through a structured process across functions (Account Management, Finance, Procurement Strategy, etc.).

Revises key assumptions and adjust demand plans based on past promotions and events, progressive quantitative analysis and inputs from vendor and customer collaboration.

Maintains relevant business knowledge of product categories and stays abreast of market and industry trends and conditions.

  • Échanger de l’information avec les équipes de planificateurs-acheteurs et de la stratégie d’approvisionnement ainsi qu’avec les fournisseurs pour le lancement de produits et l’élimination progressive de produits pour sélectionner des produits de remplacement comparables afin d’améliorer l’exactitude des prévisions.

  • En collaboration avec l’équipe de gestion des comptes, les clients et les fournisseurs, concevoir des plans d’affaires conjoints intégrant des promotions pour en arriver à un chiffre de prévision unique (UGS et total).

  • Préparer les prévisions reposant sur des hypothèses afin d’aider l’équipe de gestion à comprendre la logique des prévisions pour les négociations avec les fournisseurs et les clients.

  • Fournir aux opérations des centres de distribution (CD) des prévisions globales sur les risques de capacité des CD, appuyant ainsi le déploiement à temps des stocks promotionnels.

Gestion d’événements et de promotions (30%)

  • Créer des calendriers promotionnels et gérer des événements ayant des répercussions sur les prévisions.

  • Surveiller le déploiement des stocks promotionnels avec l’équipe de gestion des comptes et les clients, et soutenir les activités avant, pendant et après les promotions (y compris des stratégies de sortie) pour régler les ruptures de stock, les surplus et les exceptions de magasin.

  • Cataloguer les promotions antérieures pour effectuer un suivi de leurs répercussions et préserver la visibilité des prévisions de référence par rapport aux stimulants promotionnels.

  • Confirmer et accepter les changements et mises à jour de prix ayant une incidence sur les promotions, notamment en collaborant avec les finances concernant la facturation rétroactive.

Prévisions financières (30%)

  • Analyser les données historiques et dégager les principales hypothèses dans le but de produire des prévisions financières statistiques de référence pour l’ensemble des UGS, des catégories, des clients et des niveaux de hiérarchie des sites.

  • Comprendre les prévisions des ventes et les stimulants promotionnels prévus, et repérer les tendances du marché afin d’adapter la demande en fonction de la gamme et du prix des UGS en intégrant la demande promotionnelle distincte.

  • Produire un plan d’événements fondé sur le consensus au moyen d’un processus structuré avec les différents services (gestion des comptes, finances, stratégie d’approvisionnement, etc.).

  • Examiner les principales hypothèses et adapter les plans de la demande en fonction des promotions et événements antérieurs, des analyses quantitatives progressives et des données provenant de la collaboration avec les fournisseurs et clients.
