Job description

Our client, a downtown investment management firm requires a Wealth Management Associate to join their team. This role will be supporting Sub-Advisory and High-Net-Worth business channels

and report into the Head of Wealth Management. This role supports Wealth Management Client Portfolio Managers and the administration team, but is designed to grow into a client-facing role. This role will also provide back-up support to the Risk Management & Portfolio Analytics Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare trade orders, including rebalancing and block trades, for approval to align portfolios with targets and models.
  • Execute client cash flow transactions and monitor accounts to ensure timely settlement.
  • Manage and update SMA models, implementing Portfolio Manager-directed changes and communicating them to program sponsors via email/portals (e.g., Envestnet, Wealth360).
  • Monitor accounts versus policy benchmarks and investment models; analyze asset mix and performance.
  • Recommend rebalancing where client allocations deviate from thresholds.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of SMA client models, policies, third-party systems, and CRM records (Satuit).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for sub-advisory SMA clients.
  • Collaborate with Client Portfolio Managers and senior leadership to ensure exceptional service.
  • Support Client Service Managers with client inquiries, account openings, reporting, and tax documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with SMA program sponsors and vendors; adapt to platform/tech changes.
  • Generate reports on business unit AUM, account flows, and model updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
  • Calculate daily performance for firm and review NAV accuracy.
  • Manage account openings/closures and update performance mandates.
  • Generate and analyze performance reports across investment teams; identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly reports on risk, holdings, and attribution; ensure data reconciliation and return verification.
  • Maintain and update presentation decks, strategy profiles, fact sheets, and other materials for clients and business development.
  • Keep consultant and client databases current with performance, characteristics, and AUM data.

Qualifications:

  • Progress toward CFA (Level I or higher), CIM, or CFP strongly preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial approach and interest in portfolio management and business development.
  • Advanced Excel and solid skills in PowerPoint and Word.
  • Client-focused and relationship-driven.
  • Strong data management skills with the ability to interpret, analyze, and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, leading to high level of accuracy in all work.
  • Solid working knowledge of equity and fixed income products for investment management industry.
  • Investigative/inquiring nature with good problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player able to work with colleagues in Client Service, Operations, Investments, Marketing, Business Development, and other departments.
  • Familiarity with portfolio systems (e.g., Evolution, Envestnet) and investment products.
  • University degree and excellent English communication skills (French an asset).
  • Strong MS Office skills; PowerPoint and Excel proficiency required.
  • Experience with Evolution and Satuit CRM is an asset.
