Job summary

RBC Dominion Securities is seeking an Associate Wealth Advisor / Financial Planner in Vancouver. You will work with a high-performing Investment Advisor team to provide proactive advice and help deepen client relationships, while identifying opportunities to grow the business.

The ideal candidate has a financial planning background, strong client service skills, and experience with HNW clients. University degree required, with CFP or PFP designation preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have RR approval with IIROC and Canadian regulatory exams.
  • University degree and CFP or PFP designation.
  • 4+ years in investment industry with HNW client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage planning expertise to facilitate meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Provide proactive client service and coordinate with departments for solutions.
  • Respond to account inquiries and follow-ups.
  • Support business planning, client segmentation, and service plans.
  • Identify asset consolidation and referral opportunities.
  • Assist advisory team with new client acquisition.
  • Maintain relationships with COIs and RBC partners.
  • Provide trading/portfolio rebalancing support and market updates.
  • Coordinate Wealth Management activities and documentation.

The RBC Dominion Securities Vancouver Main branch is seeking a talented, self-directed individual with a growth- and goals-oriented mindset to join us in our pursuit of helping our clients thrive and communities prosper. As an Associate Wealth Advisor / Financial Planner you will work with a high performing Investment Advisor team and be responsible for providing proactive advice and support to our clients and the Investment Advisor, helping deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. Identifying new opportunities and helping to grow the business will be a key and exciting part of your role. The ideal candidate will be a natural relationship manager with a financial planning background who enjoys working with clients directly.

What will you do?
  • Leverage your talent for planning to facilitate, in partnership with the Investment Advisor, meetings and events for the Investment Advisor with their clients and prospects. Drawing on your understanding of the business and client needs, you will help determine agenda and key topics, prepare documentation, execute post-meeting work and attend client meetings when required.
  • Tap into your superior problem resolution skills to provide proactive client service. Working collaboratively, you will at times liaise with various departments to provide smooth and timely solutions.
  • Effectively respond to client account inquiries and take ownership of follow-ups.
  • Help build and execute business plans, client segmentation exercises, and client service plans.
  • Identify opportunities for asset consolidation and referrals across the existing client base
  • Support your advisory team with new client acquisition.
  • Nurture and manage valuable relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs) and RBC partners.
  • Trading and / or portfolio rebalancing support.
  • Conduct ongoing research on markets and investments and provide regular updates to the advisory team.
  • Support both the advisory team and our clients throughout the Wealth Management process. Coordinate activities with internal Wealth Management specialists, manage documentation, track progress and follow up.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with IIROC
  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam, CIRE and the Retail Securities Exam
  • 4 years or more of professional experience within the investment industry
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation
  • Financial Planning experience working with HNW clients
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • University degree
  • Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly developed client service skills

The expected base salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.5x base salary.
