Biovectra is recognized as a leader in the Contract Development and Manufacturing space of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients specializing in clinical to commercial scale production for microbial fermentation, synthetic small molecules including ADC, HPAPI, plasmid DNA, mRNA, LNP and sterile filling capabilities. With over 650 employees manufacturing at both the Windsor NS and Charlottetown PEI sites and supporting over 18/20 top pharma and biotech companies and 100+ active clients. Biovectra partners with biopharma and pharmaceutical companies to support the development of clinical or commercial API needs.

Reporting to the VP Business Unit Biovectra, the Associate Vice President, Supply Chain is a member of the Leadership Team responsible for making significant contributions to the successful achievement of the building of a fully operational Supply Chain department within Biovectra.

As the senior leader of the Supply Chain, the AVP of Supply Chain, provides innovative, strategic and day-to-day leadership to support Biovectra’s management and staff to achieve both strategic and operational goals. This position initiates and implements Supply Chain programs for planning, purchasing, logistics, inventory control, waste management and warehouse operations at our facilities in Windsor, NS and Charlottetown, PEI.

The AVP Supply Chain will define key business KPI’s to help optimize our flow of inventory from our suppliers to our warehouses to our customers to enable sustained growth across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and Executing Supply Chain Strategic Direction

  • Implement and oversee new Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) regimen.

  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial performance, and material shortage elimination

  • Collaborate with operational and production managers across the organization to ensure that key performance metrics and customer service expectations are not only met, but exceeded

  • Ensure all departmental goals are aligned with the company’s strategic plan and meet all business requirements, including compliance and budgetary targets

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies and end to end life cycle management of inventory and related logistics

  • Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to support the critical business needs

  • Manage material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holding at the appropriate levels

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies covering all services and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization

  • Responsible to have the appropriate cost attached to products, including freight, duty, currency exchange, etc.

  • Manage all activities that develop relationships with suppliers

  • Develop an overall vendor base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spending and technologies

  • Manage supplier contracts to ensure appropriate synergies amongst business units

  • Work with quality/regulatory to augment supplier audit program.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff; provide appropriate training and professional development to help team members meet or exceed performance expectations in a safe and productive manner

This role is an onsite role and will be based at our Prince Edward Island site or Windsor, Nova Scotia site.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience with a significant experience at the senior management level

  • Lead end-to-end supply chain strategy and operations with a focus on pharmaceutical industry standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP) while driving efficiency, cost optimization, and product availability across global markets

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or relevant field or equivalent experience

  • MBA, CPIM or SCMP or other Professional Designation are strong assets

  • Experience in program leadership relating to Purchasing, Sourcing or Supply Chain Management

  • Experience providing advice and support to senior leadership in an organization

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $143,220.00 - $223,781.00/yr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
