Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management and University Registrar

About the Role

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Enrollment Management and University Registrar, is a strategic leader responsible for all functions of the Registrar’s Office (RO). The primary goal is to ensure the integrity and efficiency of recruitment, admissions, transfer credit, financial aid and awards, registration, scheduling, student records, articulation, graduation, curriculum, and enrollment management functions.

This role is a key member of the senior leadership team, working cross-functionally to align RO services with the university’s goals and to provide a distinct university experience. As per the University Act, the incumbent serves as the secretary of convocation, Senate, and each faculty, overseeing convocations, Senate, and Board of Governors elections.

The position reports to the Vice President, Strategic Planning, Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness.

Experience, Competencies & Qualifications

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in a registrar’s office within a public post-secondary institution.
  • Expertise in university governance, legislative compliance, and policy adherence.
  • Effective leadership skills with high emotional intelligence for team development.
  • Ability to foster relationships and lead collaborative initiatives across the university.
  • Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, and discretion.
  • Proficiency in strategic enrollment management and enhancing the student experience.
  • Data collection, interpretation, communication, and decision-making skills to meet SEM goals.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing demands.
  • Experience managing complex projects in a multi-union environment.
  • Proficiency with relevant technologies, including curriculum management software, data visualization, CRM, scheduling, document management, communication systems, ERP, and collaboration tools.
