Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management and University Registrar

About the Role

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Enrollment Management and University Registrar, is a strategic leader responsible for all functions of the Registrar’s Office (RO). The primary focus is ensuring the integrity and efficiency of recruitment, admissions, transfer credit, financial aid and awards, registration, scheduling, student records, articulation, graduation, curriculum, and enrollment management.

This role is a key member of the senior leadership team, working cross-functionally to align services with university goals and enhance the student experience. As per the University Act, the AVP serves as the secretary of convocation, Senate, and each faculty, overseeing convocations, elections, and governance processes.

The AVP reports to the Vice President, Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Effectiveness.

Experience, Competencies & Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in a registrar’s office within a public post-secondary institution.
  • Expertise in university governance, legislative compliance, and policy adherence.
  • Proven leadership skills with high emotional intelligence to develop high-performing teams.
  • Ability to foster relationships and lead collaborative efforts across the university.
  • Skills in conflict resolution, mediation, and complex problem-solving.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, and discretion.
  • Proficiency in strategic enrollment management and enhancing the student experience.
  • Data collection, interpretation, communication, and decision-making skills to achieve SEM goals.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse university stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing demands.
  • Experience in managing complex projects in a multi-union environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies such as curriculum management software, data visualization tools, CRM systems, scheduling software, document management, communication systems, ERP software, and collaboration tools.
