East River Animal Hospital in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, invites you to join as an Associate or Managing Veterinarian. This role offers a culture of innovation, compassion, and growth, with no on-call duties to protect personal time.

The hospital features advanced surgical and dental suites and luxury boarding in a recently renovated facility. You are a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and licensed (or eligible) to practice in Canada, committed to gold-standard care and patient- and client-centered

Qualifications

• DVM from an accredited university.
• Licensed (or eligible) to practice in Canada.
• Strong empathy, communication and clinical veterinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to concerns.
• Perform examinations and veterinary procedures delivering high-quality care while minimizing stress.
• Explain diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive care, and nutrition to clients.
• Maintain medical records and logs per hospital protocols.
• Stay current with new veterinary medicine developments.
• Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and public.

Job Responsibilities

• Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
• Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
• Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
• Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
• Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
• Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the public.
