Job summary

MNP is seeking an Associate in its Valuations team to deliver independent business valuations and related analyses for mid-market clients across Canada. You’ll build complex financial models, contribute to reports and presentations, and communicate with clients and lawyers to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business (accounting or finance major) required.
  • CPA designation is an asset.
  • Willingness to enrol in CBV designation program.
  • Experience building complex financial models preferred.
  • 1–3 years of professional services experience; high-calibre graduates considered.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in business valuations, intellectual property valuations, fairness opinions, financial modelling and purchase price allocations.
  • Work with a team to build complex and dynamic, excel based financial models, including three-statement and cash flow projections.
  • Participate in interactions with clients, stakeholders, legal counsel and financial advisors.
  • Conduct industry and market research on trends, valuation multiples for relevant public companies and precedent transactions.
  • Analyze financial statements, projections and forecasts, prepare valuation models and perform other technical based analysis to support valuation conclusions.
  • Design and develop high-quality deliverables including engagement letters, reports and presentations.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals.
  • Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Skills and Experience
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in business (accounting or finance major)
  • CPA designation is an asset
  • Working towards a CBV designation or willingness to enrol in the program
  • Previous experience building complex financial models is preferred
  • 1 - 3 years of professional services experience. High calibre recent graduates will be considered.

The annual salary range for this position is: $55,000 - $75,000. Compensation is determined based on individual skills and relevant experience.
