Overview

This position involves performing credit reviews and processing applications for customers. Responsibilities include preparing credit applications, conducting credit reviews, and assigning credit grades. The role requires thorough and accurate analysis of the creditworthiness of the bank’s customers and the overall credit portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Prepare timely and accurate credit applications for annual reviews, renewals, and ad hoc monitoring, including financial modeling and stress testing.
  2. Analyze financial statements of borrowers, industry trends, and economic conditions; assess risks.
  3. Investigate and evaluate risks associated with the bank’s investments, adhering to credit policies, banking regulations, and best practices.
  4. Generate reports on borrowers and credit exposure for management.
  5. Monitor credit events and financial releases; coordinate with relationship managers on borrower requirements.
  6. Respond to credit department requests by assessing changes in borrower conditions.
  7. Protect the bank’s credit position and quality.
  8. Coordinate with account managers or customers regarding financial reports and requirements.
  9. Prepare special reports on industry and borrower research as needed.
  10. Analyze the credit portfolio, including risk concentration and performance trends.
  11. Conduct stress testing and sensitivity analyses on the portfolio.
  12. Assist in credit portfolio reporting and monitor key risk indicators.
  13. Support compliance with regulatory requirements and enhance documentation frameworks.
  14. Handle ad hoc risk reporting requests and stay informed about industry and regulatory developments.
  15. Assist in special projects and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.

Interpersonal / Communications

Internal: Communicate with various bank departments, especially the Corporate Banking team.

External: Interact with customers to obtain financial data.

Job Specifications

Knowledge: Bachelor’s in Business, Economics, Finance, or Commerce; MBA preferred. Professional certifications like FRM or CFA are assets.

Experience: At least 5 years in corporate banking, with 2-3 years in credit risk analysis. Experience in credit applications, financial statement analysis, and cash flow assessment is required.

Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Attention to detail, multitasking, and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Proficiency in GBR, Loan IQ, Microsoft Office, DebtDomain, S&P Cap IQ, Bloomberg.
