As the Associate Trust Officer, you will provide clients and beneficiaries with estate, trust, and agency administration services, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, and client needs. You will manage designated accounts, possess sound technical knowledge of estates and trusts, and support larger accounts as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing personalized service to clients and beneficiaries, ensuring timely and accurate account administration.
  2. Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and audit standards, and documenting activities thoroughly.
  3. Creating and reviewing accounting entries, managing cash positions, and taking remedial actions when necessary.
  4. Preparing and obtaining approval for fee calculations, forecasting fee collections, and managing variances.
  5. Serving as the Primary Relationship Manager (PRM) for clients, developing in-depth understanding of client needs, and coordinating with the team of experts.
  6. Fostering an environment of effective operations, adhering to values, conduct, and risk management standards.
  7. Working closely with the client’s PRM to identify and implement strategies for client needs and growth opportunities.
  8. Identifying new business opportunities and assisting in referral processes.

Qualifications include:

  1. Successful completion of Canadian Securities Course.
  2. University Degree or equivalent experience.
  3. Progress towards Trust Institute designation/diploma.
  4. Knowledge of trust accounting principles and systems.
  5. Understanding of Trust Policies and Wealth Management products.
  6. Knowledge of Financial Planning processes and tools.
