What Youll Be Doing

As the Associate Trust Officer, you will be responsible for the ongoing account management and administration of Estates Trusts and Powers of Attorney. This involves partnering with a specialized team of professionals within Wealth Management dedicated to working with Estates Trusts and Powers of Attorney. Your primary accountability includes the timely, accurate, and professional administration of estate, trust, and power of attorney accounts. You will identify and mitigate account risks while adhering to all CIBC Trust Policies & Procedures, including cash management, fee collection, account opening, etc.

How Youll Succeed

Collaboration - Develop and maintain strong partnerships with clients/beneficiaries to provide excellent service. Effective communication ensures all parties are informed of key activities, milestones, and deliverables. Partner with internal experts from Investment Management and Tax Departments for oversight and guidance. Supervise account investments to ensure they align with objectives, documents, and legislation.

Trust & Estate Acumen - Ensure onboarding and account management meet clients' needs, considering estate and trust characteristics. Establish effective tracking, monitoring, and compliance. Assist in developing standards and vetting policies. Improve account administration processes.

Coaching and Mentoring - Foster a positive work environment, champion CIBC’s mission, vision, and values. Ensure policy compliance through fair and consistent application of standards.

Who You Are

You have 1-3 years of experience in Estate & Trust industry, with detailed knowledge of accounting and investing sufficient for estate, trust, and Power of Attorney accounts. Certification such as MTI or TEP is an asset. You influence through relationships, enjoy analyzing complex data, and communicate effectively. You are motivated to succeed, value trust, teamwork, and accountability.
