We are currently recruiting for an Associate Regional Vice-President to join our Business Development team in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for retaining and growing assets under administration for AWM by supporting Assante's advisory network with practice management education, communicating and building support of AWM initiatives, programs, and services/tools, and helping advisors and branches grow and succeed. The ARVP, Business Development will have responsibility for managing and growing the territory, as well as have the flexibility and entrepreneurialism to run their business. The ARVP, Business Development will be located in their respective regional offices, as well as traveling into their sub-region to deliver sales presentations and build the business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Grow AWM’s market share by helping advisors/branches grow their business
  • Provide service and support to advisors in the region through proactive outbound sales/service calls
  • Support advisor recruitment by proactively developing relationships with prospective advisors including proactive outbound calls to set up meetings
  • Provide timely support, information and practice management strategies to advisors
  • Manage and handle incoming Advisor calls and service requests and support RVP with same
  • Develop service and growth strategies, leverage resources appropriately, work closely with business partners, and ensure consistent messaging to the region’s constituents
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry competitors, investment vehicles, financial markets and economic data
  • Provide continual feedback to the RVP, Business Development and Senior Management on practice management trends, product requests, competitive information and marketing and operational matters
  • Participate in all required team meetings and training including regional advisor council meetings
  • Ensure all activities including meetings, notes, etc. are tracked and logged into Salesforce/Navigator

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years financial industry experience, with prior sales, client service and/or relationship management experience in a MFDA/IIROC dealer preferred.
  • Full understanding of wealth management and investment products practices and codes
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to conduct in person and phone meetings effectively

Education/Training

  • University degree
  • Canadian Securities Course
  • CFP, CIM, and/or CFA an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of distribution and wealth management, investment themes and products
  • Extensive knowledge of investment industry, practice management methods, advisor technology
  • Relationship management skills, ability to develop, foster, and maintain relationships and inspire trust and confidence is critical
  • Able to make quick and appropriate decisions, while constantly work within the regulatory framework

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel required to advisors offices, road shows, conferences, seminars and industry events
  • Required to work beyond normal working hours
  • Normal office environment
