Job summary

TD Securities is seeking a skilled Sales/Trading professional to join our Retail/Wealth Distribution team in Toronto. You will execute the sale of foreign exchange, money market and fixed income products, provide market information to partners and clients, and act as product expert across internal and external teams.

Job Description

TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients who choose us for our knowledge, innovation, and experience in the following key areas of finance: Investment and Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, Interest Rate, Precious Metals, Currency and Derivative Products.

TD Securities works with clients around the world, and our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs.

The Retail/Wealth Distribution team is responsible for the distribution of Foreign Exchange, Money Market/Fixed Income, Foreign Currency Term and Precious Metals products in the Retail and Wealth networks. The accountabilities for this role include sales promotion for the above-mentioned products which includes pricing and executing trades, identifying new sales opportunities, making proactive telephone sales calls, building relationships with our partners and identifying new sales opportunities to improve the TD Securities product profile.

Accountabilities

• Execute the sale of foreign exchange, money market, fixed income, foreign currency term and precious metals products
• Provide a high level of customer service by providing meaningful market information and transaction support to internal partners and clients
• Act as product and subject matter expert for employees as well as internal and external partners
• Manage, maintain and monitor pricing feeds and Product inventories for distribution within the bank
• Be proactive in taking on additional responsibilities that enhance business processes and support overall growth of the business
• Provide oversight of product information and distribution to Channel Partners ensuring that messages match Business Strategy and standards for messaging
• Monitor market conditions and trading activity to identify business opportunities
• Proactively identify business opportunities through cross selling and working with internal sales partners
• Understand and apply discretionary pricing in order to contribute to team profitability
• Contribute to the success of the business through personal and team development

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a sound understanding of Financial Markets; possess an understanding of foreign exchange, precious metals and fixed income products
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently or in a team environment with strong attention to detail
• Applicants require strong communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Some programming, macro building, data manipulating skills are an asset (i.e Python, SQL, VBA, Tableau, etc.)
• Familiarity and experience with AI tools
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with customers and partners at all levels across the bank
• Experience in a customer service and sales environment with progressive responsibilities
• Self-starter, motivated towards improving and developing the business
• Strong work ethic and ability to take initiatives and balance multiple tasks
• Service orientation and professional attitude
• Proficient/ Fluent in French is an asset

Educational Requirements

• Minimum requirement is Post Secondary Education (preferably Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting).
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and an MBA/CFA designation or enrolment in program would be an asset.
