What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC Real Estate Finance Division focuses on providing financing to real estate companies on both interim/construction and term basis across Canada. Our team, with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, London, Hamilton, and Montreal, offers full-service financial solutions to real estate companies and users nationwide. The successful candidate will work closely with Relationship Managers, gaining experience in real estate interim and term lending, managing key client relationships, and supporting loan underwriting, credit analysis, and portfolio management projects.

We support a flexible hybrid work environment, with 2-3 days on-site and the rest remote.

How You’ll Succeed

• Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth company, industry, and portfolio analysis, perform risk assessments, financial statement analysis, sensitivity and scenario analysis, asset valuation, and review third-party reports.
• Collaboration: Present to senior management, collaborate with risk partners to analyze risks and mitigation strategies.
• Client Service: Support portfolio clients, assess needs, propose solutions, prepare proposals, and participate in client meetings and site visits.
• Business Development Support: Assist in loan processing, account opening, securities, and cash management reviews.

Who You Are

• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Team player with strong relationship management skills.
• Experience in financial statement analysis and real estate industry risk assessment.
• Goal-oriented with business development skills.
