What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity to join RBC Capital Markets in our Quantitative Sales Trading – Electronic Trading team. You will leverage your expertise in quantitative analysis, algorithmic trading, and client engagement to support the continuous improvement of electronic trading execution in U.S. and Canadian equity markets. As part of a dynamic and high-performing team, you will collaborate across business and technology partners to deliver innovative solutions for institutional clients while keeping abreast of market structure and regulatory changes.

What will you do?

  • Conduct quantitative analysis to drive algorithmic development and improve client execution with lower transaction costs
  • Monitor client activity and algorithmic performance on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborate with functional partners to resolve real-time trading issues
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of algorithmic and analytics platforms
  • Engage consistently with existing clients to promote Global Markets products across various regions
  • Build relationships with new institutional clients to expand business opportunities
  • Stay current on market structure, regulatory changes, and new algorithmic strategies

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or Finance
  • Strong programming experience in R, Python, or KDB
  • Proficiency in statistics and statistical methods
  • Background in trading, ideally in equities
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian equity markets
  • Experience with institutional clients
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Creativity and initiative for innovation and process improvement
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities

Nice-to-have:

  • Registration Series 7, 63
  • Experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and audit practices in electronic trading
