In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your Role And Responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Centre (CIC) occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace – at the intersection of business and technology. In this role, you'll work in our IBM CIC, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to clients worldwide. Our delivery centers facilitate local skills and expertise to foster innovation and technology adoption.

As a Quality Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of our SAP and related systems by designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies and processes.

Test Planning And Strategy
  • Develop and maintain test plans, cases, and suites for SAP projects.
  • Define testing scope, approach, and resources needed.
  • Contribute to improving testing methodologies and processes.
Test Automation
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, or custom ABAP frameworks.
  • Enhance automation frameworks and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with developers to integrate automated checks into CI/CD pipelines.
Defect Management
  • Document, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA or SAP Quality Center.
  • Work with development teams to clarify, reproduce, and verify defects.
Data Management
  • Create and manage test data with SAP tools (e.g., Data Migration, Data Services, SAP HANA).
  • Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance.
Collaboration And Communication
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate findings and progress clearly via emails, meetings, and reports.
Continuous Learning
  • Stay updated on SAP testing trends and tools.
  • Participate in training and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship (valid work permit, PR, or citizenship).
  • Willing to live and work in Calgary, AB.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, information systems, or related field.
Core Competencies
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Understanding of SDLC and QA processes.
  • Experience with testing tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
