POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to a Project Manager, the Associate Project Manager will oversee the planning and delivery of low-complexity projects within scope, schedule, and budget, adhering to BGIS and client procedures. The role involves collaborating with technical staff, consultants, and contractors, emphasizing communication, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and fiscal management to ensure client and team satisfaction, as well as financial success.

This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across industries such as Retail, Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial, covering various construction models. Responsibilities include managing stakeholder interests and supporting all project phases from planning to construction management. Our group manages over 4,500 projects annually, with a team of 160+ members and an annual delivery of over $450 million, including infrastructure upgrades, tenant fit-outs, major consolidations, new builds, energy retrofits, and critical environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

For assigned projects:

  1. Plan and oversee end-to-end project delivery.
  2. Define project scope, deliverables, and requirements with stakeholders.
  3. Develop and implement project plans.
  4. Determine resource needs, budgets, cost estimates, and timelines.
  5. Identify risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  6. Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
  7. Supervise project team activities and monitor task completion.
  8. Communicate project status to stakeholders.
  9. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and in compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Client Relationship Management:

  1. Build and maintain effective client relationships.
  2. Resolve issues, manage expectations, and ensure satisfaction.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Community college diploma in architectural, construction, or engineering technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 1-3 years of project management experience; or 5-7 years in project coordination within a Construction Owner's Representative environment preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and compliant with all requirements.
  • Experience managing project budgets and mitigating risks.
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and manage client expectations with high service orientation.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and performance.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, seeking best practices and technologies to optimize project delivery.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Project, Excel, Outlook, with quick learning ability for new applications.

  • Project Management Institute Accreditation, in progress.
  • LEED certification, in progress.
