Job summary

Plenary Americas is seeking an Associate in Project Finance and Commercial to support development and structuring of infrastructure projects. You will build cash flow models, analyze feasibility and help craft financing plans, while coordinating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes financial feasibility, risk allocation and creative structuring to advance P3 and private development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, economics, engineering, business, or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in real estate, energy, transportation or other infrastructure development, investment banking or project finance.
• Strong financial modeling skills and familiarity with financing tools for infrastructure.

The Role

As an Associate in the Development Services business unit, you will support a team responsible for securing and developing early-stage public infrastructure projects as well as the commercial and financial structuring of projects that advance through the development process. This role is focused in particular on financial feasibility analysis, project finance structuring and negotiation of appropriate risk allocation. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and deliver innovative, cost-effective and financeable infrastructure projects. The Development Services business unit is a newly formed group within Plenary, as an early employee within the group the selected candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact and take on greater responsibility as part of a small team responsibility for a fast growing business unit.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage detailed cash flow models for infrastructure projects including P3 and private development structures.
• Conduct research on market trends, financing precedents, and regulatory frameworks.
• Develop written and presentation materials for submission to public sector clients / counterparties.
• Assess project financial feasibility including performing scenario analysis and risk allocation assessments.
• Develop, structure and evaluate new and creative approaches to improving infrastructure project feasibility including additional revenue streams, cost efficiencies and financial structuring.
• Assist in drafting financial and commercial sections of proposals, board materials, and investment committee documents.
• Assist in preparing financing plans, credit term sheets, and funding applications.
• Coordinate with development, technical / preconstruction and legal teams to advance overall project development.
• Coordinate RFP responses including primary responsibility for financing and commercial elements of responses
• Support internal project management and reporting tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, business, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in real estate, energy, transportation and/or other infrastructure development (principal or advisory role), investment banking, project finance or related field.
• Strong financial modeling skills; familiarity with financing and funding tools applicable to infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail.
