We are currently recruiting for an Associate Project (Design) Manager in Waterloo.

Position Summary:

This role involves planning and executing new product development projects within R&D, which involve technological risks and significant evolution. Projects are cross-functional and may span multiple sites.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Plan and initiate new product development projects:

• Develop business cases and project goals, review with sponsors.
• Determine deployment and validation strategies.
• Establish project and resource plans, assess and mitigate risks.
• Obtain management approval to proceed.

Execute development projects:

• Coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Track and report progress to senior management.
• Manage project risks and resource conflicts.
• Implement scope changes with approval.
• Support product deployment and early life.

Set project goals, conduct performance reviews, and evaluate group capabilities.

Participate in setting business goals for multiple projects and coordinate plans and resources.

Assist with capacity planning, operational planning, and technology roadmaps, contributing to product roadmaps.

Contribute to project management methodologies and lead process improvements.

Prepare and lead NPI process transition.

Position Requirements:

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in imaging hardware/software, with at least two years in structured product development.
• PMP certification.
• Knowledge of rapid product development strategies, product management, and OEM business development.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of PMBOK, project management software (especially Microsoft Project), SAP, and NPI processes.

Travel for customer and project support, including vendor visits, is required.
