You have a broad range of interests. You have a deep understanding and appreciation of diversity of perspective, opinion and experience, which is reflected in all your pitches and guest selection.

Finally, you have full knowledge of the Journalistic Standards and Practices of CBC and that all your work is governed by these policies. And you know the importance of getting it right and maintaining the trust of our audience.

  • Direct the editing of visual elements
  • Edit, encode, digitize and package material for digital platforms
  • Assist in maintaining a level of communication or rapport with members of the audience which is both feasible and appropriate
  • Perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth functioning of the program unit.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Strong news sense, especially Canadian and International news and current affairs
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with and understand CBC's Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime is required, including, occasionally, weekends
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Must be comfortable and willing to train in a number of different job functions as determined by the Executive Producer
  • Capable of original and creative thought
  • Open to new ideas and approaches
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Innovative, flexible and must be a self-starter
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time under the pressure of breaking and sometimes highly technical news, and still maintain a cooperative relationship with colleagues
  • Must have the ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently
  • Must be able to solve problems independently and in group discussions
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player
