IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Associate Portfolio Manager, to join the Global Credit investments team to focus on direct private debt/credit investments. As a key member of the private debt/credit Deal Team within Global Credit, you will be responsible for overseeing, underwriting, structuring, and monitoring non-investment grade private debt transactions, including corporate leverage loans (LBO’s), infrastructure debt, opportunistic credit, capital solutions, and hybrid structures, among others.
As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:
Being an engaged member of the Deal Team to actively oversee and participate in the due diligence process and preparation of investment reports/memos and presentation materials.
Apply sound investment and credit-specific knowledge and experience to build and analyze complex financial models.
Conduct research and analysis on a broad range of topics to support investment decision-making across various credit asset classes.
Interact with internal stakeholders (i.e., risk, tax, legal, finance) to support deals and ongoing portfolio management.
Develop and generate periodic/ad-hoc analyses using multiple sources of information (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, rating agencies reports, etc.) to satisfy the C-suite, board of directors, and client reporting requirements.
Contribute to ad-hoc projects as required to further develop and expand the Global Credit strategy and platform.
Support asset monitoring throughout the investment lifecycle.
What do you need to succeed?
University degree in Business or a related discipline, CFA or MBA is an asset.
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience (transactions-related) in private debt/credit, leverage loans, infrastructure debt, high-yield debt, transaction advisory, and/or investment/corporate banking.
Excellent quantitative, analytical, financial modelling, problem-solving and researching skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to work to tight deadlines and handle multiple projects.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and cultivate key partnerships to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and compelling manner and present information to internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative to understand, support and implement goals and objectives
