Job description

Associate Pastor – Springside Baptist Church

Springside Baptist Church (SBC) is a Bible-believing congregation within the North American Baptist Conference and is located in the town of Springside, Saskatchewan. We are a multigenerational rural congregation of 150 from Springside and the surrounding area.

Springside is a community of 475 people, with a thriving K–8 elementary school, skating rink, Seniors Drop-In Center, library, firehall, and Community Resource Center. We are less than 20 minutes from the city of Yorkton and 15 minutes from the Saskatchewan Baptist Association’s Good Spirit Bible Camp at Good Spirit Provincial Park.

Our mission is to glorify God by knowing Him, loving others, making disciples, and growing in Christ (Matthew 28:19–20 & 22:35–40). Our vision is to function in love and unity in order to glorify God and reach our communities for Christ.

We are seeking a full-time motivated, passionate, and dedicated individual who loves Jesus and desires to lead, inspire, and disciple our young people. Our ideal candidate will:

  • Support the mission and vision statements and be aligned with the beliefs of SBC.
  • Have ministry-related education from a recognized Bible college.
  • Have experience with youth ministry.
Responsibilities

Work alongside our lead pastor to provide teaching and shepherding to the church, with a focus on the following:

  • Provide hands-on involvement and leadership to SBC Youth Ministry (Grade 7–12).
  • Coordinate and/or lead weekly activities, Bible studies, and Sunday school.
  • Develop relationships with SBC youth for intentional discipleship.
  • Connect with youth from our community.
  • Recruit, equip, and collaborate with youth volunteers.
  • Work together with other local churches to plan group events.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to SBC Young Adults Ministry (18+).
  • Facilitate small groups and opportunities for SBC young adults to connect.
  • Develop relationships with SBC young adults for intentional discipleship.
  • Provide guidance and support to SBC Children’s Ministry (Preschool–Grade 6).
  • Assist SBC children’s ministries team with encouragement and spiritual oversight.
  • Take opportunities to participate in SBC Children’s Ministries with the purpose of building relationships.

Other opportunities can include camp ministry, music ministry, family ministry, seniors ministry, small groups, etc., according to giftedness and interests.
