Job description

Role Summary

To provide discipleship, leadership, and pastoral care for youth and young adults, helping them grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and live as followers of Jesus in their everyday lives.

This is a half-time position.

Preference will be given to candidates willing to apply for a part-time staff role with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) at the University of Regina. To find out more, visit: https://ivcf.ca/ministry-area/campus/

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Areas of Responsibility

Young Adult Ministry

  • Establish and grow a vibrant young adult ministry
  • Lead events that focus on Scripture, prayer, and community-building
  • Develop and mentor young adult leaders
  • Provide one-on-one spiritual care and mentorship
  • Collaborate with IVCF to explore joint programming opportunities

Youth Ministry

  • With our Youth Pastor, help lead weekly youth events that focus on discipleship, prayer, and relational connection
  • Help recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders
  • Build relationships with youth through one-on-one pastoral care
  • Ensure all youth ministry activities align with the church’s youth policy and safety standards

Worship & Congregational Life

  • Participate in the planning and leadership of Sunday services and special services (e.g. weddings, funerals, Christmas Eve), as time and interest allow
  • Offer pastoral care visits across generations as needed
  • Engage in other ministry areas, committees, or projects based on interest, gifting, and availability

Qualifications

  • A commitment to working collaboratively with church leadership and ministry partners
  • Preference for post-secondary theological education
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
