We are hiring an Associate Mortgage Underwriter for Third Party Residential Underwriting – BMBE!

Reporting To: Manager, Third Party Residential Underwriting - BMBE

Employment Type: Full-time

Posting Date: May 2, 2025

Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Opportunity

The Third Party Residential Underwriting Division provides underwriting expertise to other financial institutions serving the Canadian Mortgage Broker channel. The Associate Mortgage Underwriter supports the credit decision process by reviewing documentation and ensuring compliance, escalating issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners such as insurers, appraisers, and solicitors.
  • Collect and verify documentation related to income, down payment, and property, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Escalate discrepancies or incomplete documentation to senior underwriters.
  • Document notes thoroughly in the underwriting system.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, adhering to turnaround times.
  • Maintain compliance with AML policies and procedures.
