Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC seeks an Associate Medical Director for the UNC Rex Hospitalists to provide administrative and operational leadership on a per diem, 4‑hour weekly basis onsite.

This role supports the Medical Director with day‑to‑day physician leadership and service needs, requiring an MD or DO, ABIM internist certification, and hospitalist experience.

Qualifications

• Graduated from Medical School or DO School.
• Board-certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM).
• At least some hospitalist experience.
• Hospitalist leadership/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support to the Medical Director.
• Assist with day-to-day physician leadership and service needs.
