Associate Marketing Manager, Country - 12 Month Contract

The UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Marketing, Country, the Associate Marketing Manager, Country, will provide support to the Marketing department and contribute to a positive work environment with an emphasis on a ‘team’ concept. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, creative and energetic people leader with a passion for music. Core functions involve supporting the Marketing team’s efforts in the development and management of artist brand strategy campaigns to increase awareness, fan engagement, and consumption around an artist’s body of work.

How You'll Lead:

  • Support aspects of marketing, project and product management for a roster of domestic artists
  • Support in creating, communicating and executing comprehensive marketing campaigns that engage fans, raise visibility and drive commercial results
  • Be immersed and have thorough knowledge of country music culture with experience of promoter and festival circuit, digital and social media platforms, and grassroots/street marketing
  • Build and manage smart marketing budgets that help deliver maximum visibility while also focusing on the highest return of investment
  • Understand and leverage user engagement and marketing opportunities on digital platforms such as Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and more
  • Identify viral, digital, and word-of-mouth marketing opportunities with the goal of driving traffic to artist profiles across DSPs, fan acquisition, and building brand awareness for artists
  • Work closely with the assigned Content Creator & Creative teams to create compelling short and long-form creative that is aligned with the artists brand while focusing on bringing in new audiences and engaging and rewarding current fans.
  • Explore new digital platforms to develop relationships to maximize audience reach and build artist profile in Canada and globally
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build and support artists’ brands
  • Conduct weekly comprehensive digital performance audits on assigned artists to measure momentum on social, CRM and streaming platforms.
  • Support the execution of artist assets (photos and videos, content for social platforms, advertising assets, logos, website, street marketing tools)
  • Consult with A&R, Promotion, Creative, Digital Strategy, E-Commerce, and Communications team on rollout plans to maximize opportunities and exposure for each artist project
  • Continually evaluate consumer response data including streaming, radio, media and artist socials in order to make informed marketing decisions, staying proactive with appropriately designed campaigns
  • Know how to query and speak to specific data points that are meaningful to partner account relations and artist/manager expectations
  • Work cross-functionally across all departments and with artist management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • 2-5 years of marketing experience in the creative industry
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, music, media and/or entertainment
  • Experience creating and leading marketing campaigns and overall projects
  • Knowledgeable about how the music business operates and about the evolving digital & streaming landscape
  • Ability to work within assigned budgets and timelines
  • Exceptional communication skills, organizational, planning and priority setting skills
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Premier for photo and video editing is an asset
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings
