Position Overview

The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in developing and executing strategic plans to ensure a profitable store operation. They are key decision-makers, especially in the absence of the General Manager, and are responsible for operational excellence, talent optimization, and innovative selling techniques while maintaining brand integrity.

  1. Assist the General Manager in analyzing business trends and planning strategic initiatives for your store.
  2. Educate your team on sales and profit performance tools and resources.
  3. Create a consistent customer experience aligned with RL brand standards by supporting the store vision.
  4. Develop and execute the store's client development strategy and lead community outreach efforts.
  5. Implement talent strategies in collaboration with the General Manager to build a customer-focused team that embodies the store vision.
  6. Lead networking and recruitment activities within your market.
  7. Engage in ongoing talent development through coaching, feedback, and learning opportunities.
  8. Manage store operations to meet productivity standards, including inventory control and shrink management.
  9. Promote the use of new technology to support innovative sales techniques and shopping experiences.
  10. Uphold all company policies and procedures.
  11. Provide feedback to leadership on high-profit potential areas and market trends.
  12. Maintain store standards that exceed expectations at all times.
  13. Create an inclusive environment aligned with Ralph Lauren’s core values and cultural focus areas.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
  • College Degree or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience in retail management or a similar high-volume, high-profile environment preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with customers and team members.
  • Physical ability to maneuver around the store, lift up to 30 lbs, and climb as needed.
  • Ability to operate registers, stand, move, and walk for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and potential travel.
  • Proven success in building positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Business acumen and strong planning and prioritization skills.
