We are looking for an Associate Manager, Communications

As Associate Manager, Communications, your primary role will be to support the development and execution of strategic communications plans for internal divisional and national audiences. You'll contribute to messaging and initiatives that support our company brand and executive thought leadership while partnering with colleagues across the business.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment and can quickly translate direction into action with minimal oversight. You're comfortable managing competing priorities, navigating ambiguity and delivering high-quality work in a collaborative, high-performing team.

What You Will Do
  • Support communications for HR and functional business areas, including employee communications, organizational change initiatives, leadership announcements, town halls and engagement activities.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies and plans for specific programs and change management initiatives, using a forward-thinking, holistic approach to anticipate potential issues and develop contingency plans.
  • Translate complex business information and initiatives into clear, compelling and audience-focused communications that drive understanding and action.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, exercising sound judgment and initiative to move work forward.
  • Forge strong relationships with business leaders, partners and members of the Communications team to ensure delivery of solutions that meet business needs.
  • Support business results with strategic and tactical communication guidance, drawing on a big-picture perspective aligned with business, culture and engagement strategies, and our company brand.
  • Collaborate with all members of the Communications team, actively supporting the delivery of a consistent strategic communication support model across our Canadian business and ensuring consistent messages, positioning, timing and language.
  • Contribute to the development of an inclusive team environment where all members feel they belong and can reach their full potential.
What You Will Bring
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree relating to communications, and at least 5 to 7 years of related experience. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting HR communications, employee communications, organizational change initiatives or other people-focused programs is considered a strong asset.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while driving execution, moving projects from concept to completion with a high degree of independence and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects, exercise initiative and proactively identify solutions while working independently with limited direction.
  • Experience developing and executing communications plans in support of organizational change, employee initiatives or business priorities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to manage competing demands and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills and ability to work well with a national team in different locations.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills at senior levels of the organization.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and flexibility to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately.
  • Outstanding creativity skills and proficiency employing a broad range of communications tactics, from presentation tools such as PowerPoint to interactive email, video, infographics, social media and evolving digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with common office software.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online would be considered a strong asset.

The base salary for this position is between $64,800 - $119,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
