Job Description

Position Summary:

The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) is the project integrator responsible for supporting/leading key initiatives necessary to deliver annual financial/marketplace targets for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Develops and executes Advertising and Promotional (A&P) plans. Analyzes all elements of the P&L and makes suggestions to the team to achieve financial/marketplace outcomes. Plays a meaningful role in the delivery of the brand’s P&L goals and supports the execution of strategies to achieve financial/marketplace outcomes. Tracks brand budgets based on AOP.

The ABM also supports the development of the short-term and long-term innovation pipeline (Renovations, Line Extensions, etc.). Assists with the innovation planning process by translating strategic consumer insights into meaningful innovation plans. Leads the launch of new innovations with opportunities to present to the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:

60% Planning, Execution and P&L Management:

  • Participate in building the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the brand and strategic planning process.
  • Support revenue growth management activities: Margin Management/Pricing, Trade Efficiency Support, and MAPS (Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing & Shelving).
  • Anticipate future business needs and proactively align with cross-functional partners.
  • Deliver annual financial targets for assigned brands/portfolios (volume, Net Sales, COGS, Gross Profit, A&P). Recommend corrective actions if necessary.
  • Ensure brand initiatives align with goals, priorities, and strategies.
  • Drive revenue growth management activities via Margin Management, Cost Reduction initiatives, and Pricing recommendations.
  • Leverage consumer insights and jobs theory for the brand(s).
  • Manage brand equity (language, vision, strategy).
  • Use consumer insights and competitive analysis effectively.
  • Create and execute comprehensive marketing activation plans.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with the Commercial Strategy Management Team (CSM) for go-to-market strategies and trade spend effectiveness.
  • Work with CSM on the commercialization of innovations, providing sales tools (sell sheets, consumer info, etc.).
  • Support the Shopper Marketing team in executing customer programs.
  • Support innovation projects through the gate process, from idea identification to market execution, rooted in consumer insights and competitive analysis.
  • Develop and execute strategic innovation plans focusing on short-term opportunities to drive sales and revenue.
  • Leverage U.S.-led innovation for Canadian brand expansion and mega brand development.
  • Identify, evaluate, and validate Canadian opportunities for line extensions, pack size opportunities, and renovations driven by insights for long-term growth across channels.
  • Collaborate with the CSM team to explore opportunities in different pack sizes and channels beyond retail.
  • Monitor performance of new product launches with post-launch reviews and insights to inform action plans.

10% - Strengthen & Build Brand Management Process

  • Build organizational capabilities through coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure successful presentation and integration of AOP, strategic plans, business reviews, and briefs to senior leadership and partners.
  • Build strong relationships with US, International, and Canadian innovation teams.
  • Share learnings and identify synergies with international teams.
  • Enhance innovation credibility within the organization.

10% - Admin Support

  • Manage A&P spending within budget.
  • Monitor brand budgets, track expenses, and reconcile invoices.
  • Keep projects updated in Clarizen.
  • Assist with process enhancements and explore promotional opportunities.
  • Support lateral career growth within the organization.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • At least 3 years of marketing experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry; Food CPG experience is a plus.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing programs, brief writing, and managing P&L.
  • Proven success in initiatives that increase market share, revenue, volume, and process efficiencies.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions in a complex environment.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and data-utilization skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including sales, finance, research, and operations.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and in groups.

Compensation:

Pay Range: $62,000-$91,000

The salary range is an estimate; actual salary depends on experience, location, and other factors. Conagra complies with applicable minimum salary laws.
