They are seeking a mid-level Securities & Capital Markets Associate to join their national team in Calgary. This role provides the chance to work with a collegial team and develop skills across a broad spectrum of corporate transactions, securities, and corporate matters.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. 3 to 7 years of post-call experience in corporate securities law, with a focus on capital markets and M&A, from a reputable national or regional law firm.
2. Experience representing issuers, underwriters, and selling shareholders in domestic and cross-border public offerings and private placements of debt, equity, and structured finance products.
3. Experience working with corporations, investment banks, and financial institutions on mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, independent committee engagements, and defense strategies.
4. Knowledge of corporate governance, disclosure issues, trading strategies, and regulatory compliance.
5. Strong academic background, superior communication and drafting skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
6. Client-oriented approach and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
