Job description

Join a high-performing team at a respected full-service regional law firm based in Toronto. You will be working closely with four partners and one associate, and be provided witha dynamic and growth-oriented experience.

We are seeking anInsurance Litigation Associatewith 3+ years of experience to join thisteam. As part of a specialized group, you will handle a wide range of insurance litigation matters, including complex claims and possibly some coverage disputes. You will be responsible for managing files independently while working closely with senior partners on more complex cases.

About the Position:

  • Manage a caseload of insurance litigation matters, including disputes related to insurance coverage, claims handling, and policy interpretation.
  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting examinations for discovery, appearing at motions, and participating in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on insurance-related issues, including coverage analysis and risk management.
  • Work closely with partners and junior associates to strategize and resolve client matters.
  • Maintain and build client relationships while providing high-quality service.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ontario.
  • A minimum of 2years of experience inInsurance Litigation.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and take initiative on legal matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster client relationships.

Compensation:

  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary range of $130K – $170K (depending on experience and YOC) with a discretionalbonus structure based on performance.
  • Hybrid Work Environment: Work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
  • Professional Growth: Join a close-knit team of four partners and one associate, providing an excellent opportunity for mentorship and professional development.
  • Billable Target: A manageable billable hours target of 1750 hours annually.
