Job description

Location: Montreal or Calgary.

Headquartered in Toronto, the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) invests in new infrastructure projects. Its mission is to collaborate with provincial, territorial, municipal, federal, Indigenous, and private sector partners to transform infrastructure planning, financing, and delivery across Canada.

The Associate, Investments (Bilingual), will participate in screening, due diligence, and execution of investment opportunities. Responsibilities include screening potential investments, building financial models, conducting sector analysis, drafting memoranda, and supporting investment decisions.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate or postgraduate degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience in principal investing, corporate finance, project finance, transaction advisory, investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, or related fields.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing complex financial and project finance models, valuation analyses, and financial solutions
  • Leading due diligence processes on transactions and advisory projects
  • Managing work streams related to new subsectors or investment products
  • Supporting project development, data coordination, and client presentations
  • Preparing investment analyses, memos, proposals, and pitchbooks
  • Engaging with clients to advance transactions or mandates
  • Researching industry trends and analysis
  • Mentoring junior team members

Ideal profile:

  • 3-5 years of experience in related financial sectors
  • Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent
  • Ability to build complex financial models and perform quantitative analysis
  • Industry experience with financial, fiscal, and legal understanding of infrastructure
  • Effective collaboration skills and clear communication

  • CFA or accounting designation is a plus
  • Bilingual in English and French is required
