Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited, in Burnaby, is seeking an Inventory Associate to manage daily inventory tasks within Central Pharmacy Services. You will place orders, maintain MMS, receive shipments, and investigate discrepancies to support efficient stock control.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack and receive pharmacy totes inside the pharmacy in a secure environment
  • Put away received pharmacy inventory in the appropriate location in accordance with the established workflow
  • Ensure stock rotation is completed; the expired product is removed from the shelf, and it is returned in accordance with standard operating procedures. Update equivalent reports
  • Perform cycle counts in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Carry out daily inventory tasks, including, but not limited to placing Orders, receiving orders, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining the MMS system related to the stocks management and control
  • Order and maintain non-prescription merchandise in the dispensary, including stock rotation and the management of expired product
  • Reviews operations initiatives to determine inventory needs, considering current on hand inventory and the required lead times to ensure Central Pharmacy Services can execute on initiatives
  • Partners with operational site and other teams to ensure effective resolution of all inventory related issues
  • Maintain proper storage of medications within the pharmacy according to 5S principles
  • Manage wastage control, expiry control, and returns in accordance with established disposal protocol
  • Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are provided, supporting the Quality and Compliance Team
  • Management of preferred generic produce DSP changes, reviewing DIN, and UPC changes. Identify drug appearance changes effectively and accurately
  • Maintain Overstock to ensure the uninterrupted supply of all products, perform cycle count, track, and communicate low stock and out of stock situations according to pharmacy procedures
  • Review flip daily for inventory related communication, including but not limited to Product Shortages and Availability Report, New Generics and Dedicated Supplier Products, and Product Appearance Changes
  • Identify drug appearance changes effectively and accurately
  • Prepare and package medications as per Pharmacy Standards of Practice, ensuring all relevant information and documentation are complete
  • Accurately enter and maintain appropriate data within the applicable systems
  • Ensure that the prescription automation equipment has necessary supply of proper accessories
  • Ensure adequate stock of pharmacy supplies and materials required for packaging and workflow
  • Ensure compliance with safety and privacy regulations
  • Deliver completed prescriptions/products to designated areas according to schedule
  • Maintain a professional and inclusive work environment
  • Support a respectful and collaborative team culture with attention to accuracy and patient safety

Why this role is important?

Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Supply Chain, the Inventory Associate is responsible for inventory management and supports procurement for Central Pharmacy Services located in Burnaby. The Inventory Associate is responsible for carrying out daily inventory tasks related to inventory management, including, but not limited to placing orders, maintaining MSLs, receiving orders, and investigating discrepancies. They will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining MMS by performing tasks like Holding tanks, updating UPCs, utilizing suggested orders and reviewing DIN equivalent reports. This role also provides support for the Warehouse Associate, Order Confirmation Associate, and Production teams by performing specific duties such as Shipping, Order Verification with stores, and product preparation when required.
