Job summary

CGIC is seeking an Associate Insurance Advisor II to support and grow the agency operation, focusing on sales and service of personal lines and specialty products. You will help clients choose coverage that fits their needs in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.

You will hold a General Insurance license; a Life license is an asset. With a minimum of 2 years in insurance and solid underwriting knowledge, you will advise clients and ensure compliant licensing across provincially regulated

  • A Life license is an asset.
  • Meet provincial licensing requirements to obtain and maintain all licenses.
  • A minimum of 2 years insurance industry experience including sales is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of auto and property insurance products and underwriting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sales, service and profitable growth of personal lines and specialty lines.
  • Advise and recommend coverages and policies that meet client needs.
  • Prospect for new business and cross-sell products/services.
  • Perform risk assessments following underwriting guidelines.
  • Respond to client questions, resolve complaints and maintain client reviews.

The Associate Insurance Advisor II is a key player in the support and development of the agency operation primarily through sales and service. This role utilizes a broad knowledge of The Co-operators insurance products and services including personal lines (auto, home).

How you will create impact:
  • Sales, service and profitable growth of both personal lines and specialty lines products.
  • Advise and recommend coverages and policies that best meet client needs.
  • Actively focus on prospecting for all lines of business by identifying and recommending additional products/services that benefit the client.
  • Complete front line risk assessment and selection following underwriting guidelines.
  • Complete inspections and re-inspections.
  • Achieve individual goals for client service, sales, quality and productivity and contribute to the achievement of overall agency sales and growth goals.
  • Respond to client questions and concerns, resolve customer complaints and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Proactively complete client reviews on the auto, home, farm and/or commercial portfolio.

  • Meet all provincial-licensing requirements in accordance with continuing education in order to obtain and maintain all licenses.
  • A minimum of 2 years insurance industry experience including sales experience is preferred.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of auto and property insurance products and strong underwriting skills.

Salary placement

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.

Expected salary/hourly range $X - $X (min-max, full range). This role is eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan for additional compensation with an annual target of X%.
