Job Description:

Location: hybrid

This role reports to the Sun Advantage Underwriting Manager. The Sun Advantage segment provides service to small and medium businesses (3-49 lives) represented by brokers, Managing General Agents(MGAs) and Third-Party Administrators( TPAs).

What will you do?

  • Assess and manage risk by analyzing data relating to requests from existing customers or new business opportunities
  • Provide insights and creative solutions to help solve existing or new client problems when issues arise
  • Set pricing to renewal inforce contracts and provide quotations for new business opportunities
  • Meet Sun Life’s quality and service standards and respecting deadlines
  • Develop a good understanding of the administrative, contractual and legislative Group Benefits environment
  • Develop a strong understanding of Sun Life’s products and services, underwriting guidelines, systems and tools, pricing methodologies and market feedbacks
  • Partner with the sales and service team to provide outstanding client services and achieve profitability objectives

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Suite
  • Solid analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills
  • University Degree in mathematics, finance, actuarial science or equivalent experience
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, under pressure, in an organized, efficient and autonomous manner
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills both written and verbal

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
