The Canadian Prime Brokerage business resides within Global Prime Finance (“GPF”) and is a key component of Global Markets’ Global Equities Line of Business. Prime Brokerage is a comprehensive suite of services targeted to sophisticated institutional clients who need to borrow securities and cash in order to execute investment strategies. Clients are typically hedge funds, fund managers or professional investors. Prime Brokerage enables clients to use the services of BMO and non-BMO executing brokers while consolidating positions in a centralized account where the Prime Brokerage Team facilitates financing, collateral support, custody/asset servicing and operational support such as trade settlement, corporate actions, entitlements, and disbursements. The Prime Brokerage Client Service Relationship Management Team is responsible for relationship management and asset servicing of diversified client portfolios comprised of publicly listed and traded securities for each client/account.
Entry to Mid-level client facing role. The Prime Brokerage Client Service Analyst will be a member of the Prime Brokerage Client Service Relationship Management Team and serve as a central point of contact for Prime Brokerage clients and act as their liaison within the Prime Brokerage business and across BMO. Successful candidates need to demonstrate a firm understanding of trading strategies deployed by hedge funds, investment funds, and their associated risks. Prior experience with margin, market risk, credit, operations, tax, Canadian regulatory landscape. Client relationship management, problem solving skills, collaborative approach. Trade execution (equity or fixed income) an asset but not a requirement. Focus to ultimately develop strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the central point of contact and liaison for clientsacross BMO, including Stock Loan, Trading Desks, Operations, Technology, Credit, Risk, Compliance, AML, and Onboarding.
Use expertise in financial markets to cultivate and manage relationships with Prime Brokerage clients.
Builds positive client relations at all levels including key decision makers, traders, and operational personnel through deep/comprehensive understanding of client needs and alignment of our products/services.
Anticipates changes in client needs and provides strategic/creative solutions.
Recognizes opportunities to cross-sell and to grow share of clients' wallet.
Responds to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community in a professional manner and determine acceptable solutions.
Identifies and delivers on opportunities to improve the client experience; brings in partners where appropriate; delivers a full BMO experience.
Develops and/or facilitates development of client-focused solutions based on financial expertise, organizational, technical, regulatory and environmental client awareness.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
