What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC’s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and savvy deal-making capabilitiesto clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, derivatives, equities, and growth markets and is focused on building a strong, innovative relationship-oriented bank.
Within CIBC Global Markets, the ASG team specializes in developing innovative, technology-driven capital markets solutions. This unique group combines the agility and innovative spirit of a FinTech startup with the financial strength and governance protocols of a major financial institution. ASG is recognized as a global leader in providing disruptive technological solutions across various product areas, including Cross Border Payments, Dynamic Currency Conversion, and Foreign Cash white labeling. Our diverse client base includes some of the largest banks in the world, corporations, and CIBC’s retail clients.
We are hiring for the Global Payment Services (GPS) team, a leading product in ASG. GPS offers Retail & Corporate clients the ability to send and receive funds globally in their preferred payment method and currency. We’re looking for a high-energy individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to help build our GPS business. You will operate in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic, and hardworking relationship management team. Your key responsibilities will include growing the product with clients through relationship management, leading to increased adoption, higher client retention, and greater client satisfaction. This role will also involve close collaboration with ASG Distribution for new client acquisition and Product Development, focusing on feedback, new features for growth, and identifying new revenue streams. Please note that travel may be required based on business needs.

How You'll Succeed
Managing Client Relationships: You will manage client relationships by establishing trust-based connections with clients at various levels within their organizations. Acting as their primary point of contact, you will institutionalize the client relationship across different tiers within CIBC. You will develop a consultative selling approach, that deepens these relationships by anticipating business needs and serving as a trusted advisor. Regular meetings and presentations will be conducted in both English and French to review product performance, technical projects, and value-adding initiatives. Additionally, you will identify new revenue streams that provide solutions to meet client needs while documenting and tracking all client interactions using a Client Relationship Management tool.
Advancing Sales Pipeline : In this position, you will advance the sales pipeline by actively engaging prospects and pitching our products to drive new client acquisition. You will take the lead in originating deals, overseeing implementation projects, and managing production to ensure successful outcomes. Collaborating closely with the Distribution team, you will quantify new opportunities and support the sales cycle by preparing client-facing presentations, conducting analyses, and providing ad-hoc product expertise. Additionally, you will build referral relationships with existing clients to further enhance new client acquisition efforts.
Advancing the Product Pipeline: You will advance the product pipeline by collaborating closely with the Product Development team to translate client feedback into actionable features for development. You will identify new use cases that enhance the product and quantify the revenue opportunities for each client. Additionally, you will communicate with and support clients during new product feature launches to ensure a seamless experience. By analyzing the product in comparison to competitors and understanding client perceptions of features and usability, you will effectively convey how the GPS product meets client needs.
Analytical Expertise and Collaboration: You will leverage your analytical skills to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex data sets, providing insightful recommendations on findings, proposed actions, growth opportunities, and business initiatives. You will continuously monitor, track, and analyze client portfolio performance and economic factors throughout the day, including routine reporting, to effectively respond to client requests and address any anomalies. Additionally, you will conduct comprehensive research to identify and analyze business trends and opportunities. As part of a cross-functional team, you will support and mentor your colleagues through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and effective problem-solving. Building strong internal relationships with stakeholders will be essential, as you establish appropriate context, direction, and support when assigning work to ensure that all team members contribute to achieving our goals and purpose.
Who You Are
You have an undergraduate university degree in business, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics), or related field, MBA is an asset.
You can demonstrate a strong understanding of capital markets, foreign exchange, payments, and financial technology.
You can demonstrate 3+ years of professional work experience with a strong success in building and maintaining client relationships, business analysis and sales. Experience in management consulting, capital markets, or client management is a strong asset.
You act like an owner. You are empowered to take initiative and go above and beyond to deliver results. You can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure, results-oriented work environment.
You’re digitally savvy. You have strong experience using MS Powerpoint and can effectively create client-facing material including RFPs, pitchbooks, presentation decks, etc.
You have strong communication skills in English and French. You are able to present analyses and recommendations to senior executives in both languages. You can communicate with different stakeholders in meaningful ways.
You give meaning to data. You have experience working with complex data sets and performing quantitative analyses in Excel. You bring excellent mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
You know when to ask questions. You’re capable and confident working with limited information, ambiguity and making reasonable assumptions.
You're fluent in English and French (native proficiency).
