What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of the Personal and Business Banking team, you’ll work in a fast-paced Banking Centre where you’ll make a meaningful difference in our clients' lives. As an Associate Financial Advisor, you’ll form a deep understanding of your personal and small business clients’ needs as you recommend simple, personalized solutions that will help them achieve their financial goals. You’ll manage, either individually or as part of a team, a portfolio of mortgage clients with a focus on deepening client relationships. You should be flexible to work banking centre hours, which may include evenings and weekends, and be willing to work at multiple centres within a reasonable travel distance.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Client engagement - Meet with clients to understand their priorities, advise on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan. Ensure clients’ investment, financial, and credit needs are met through comprehensive retail banking offers or by referring them to the appropriate specialists.
  • Relationship building - Engage in marketing and outreach activities to show clients you value them and their communities. Grow your network, deepen relationships, and work as a team to connect clients to the right opportunities.
  • Business development - Network with clients’ families and friends to uncover opportunities and refer to partners. Call existing and potential clients to identify growth opportunities. Participate in community and banking centre events to enhance CIBC’s presence and market share.
  • Leveraging technology - Become proficient in our mobile banking applications and help clients manage their banking needs effectively.
Who You Are
  • You prioritize clients and engage purposefully to find the right solutions.
  • You are goal-oriented and motivated to achieve results.
  • You pay attention to details and use critical thinking in decision-making.
  • You are passionate about people and building relationships based on respect and authenticity.
  • You love learning and are curious about growing your knowledge.
  • You have 2–3 years of experience providing financial advice and achieving sales results through advice-based conversations.
  • You hold current accreditation such as the Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada, and meet eligibility for CIRO-MFD licensing. Certification in CFSA is an asset.
