Our Private Client Service lawyers are recognized for their multidisciplinary approach to helping private clients manage and transfer wealth. We operate as part of KPMG Private Enterprise and Family Office practices, offering a holistic view of client challenges and opportunities. Our affiliation with KPMG International provides global reach and access to knowledge of tax regimes in more than 145 jurisdictions, along with insights on global and regional trends affecting wealth objectives.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate to join our Trust & Estates team. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate and commercial litigation and a passion for supporting clients.

What You Will Do

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in estate and commercial litigation.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and assessment to support the team.
  • Address complaints against Trustees, interpret estate and trust documents, oversee trust winding-up, and pass accounts.
  • Handle contract and commercial disputes, oversee litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, hearings, and court proceedings.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Stay informed on relevant areas of law and participate in continuing education and professional development.

What You Bring to the Role

  • 2+ years of call and in good standing with the Law Society.
  • Experience in litigation from a reputable firm (commercial, estates, or both).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a pragmatic approach to legal solutions.
  • Ability to manage an emerging practice effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and hardworking.
  • Resourcefulness and autonomy.
  • High academic credentials, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice.
