Job summary

RBC is seeking an Associate Director, QA Lead within RAMPP to head a testing team focused on critical data and risk management applications. You will lead QA for mission-critical systems across Structured Rates Trading, Counterparty Risk, GRM and Front Office, plus Risk Modernization initiatives.

This high-visibility role requires mentoring QA engineers, developing AI-driven automation, and establishing scalable testing processes, dashboards, and standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years in QA with hands-on expertise in manual and automation testing.
  • At least 3 years managing testing cycles and leading teams of 5+ to deliver automated tests.
  • 5 years experience with Python; proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and tools such as qTest, Jira, Confluence.
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable test automation architectures for enterprise applications
  • Hands-on experience creating AI-driven automation testing frameworks; knowledge of AI tools and LLMs
  • Experience with SQL Server including complex queries, stored procedures, query optimization, and database testing
  • Expert knowledge of QE processes, Testing Life Cycle, SDLC, and Agile methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Capital Markets experience
  • Experience with test automation tools: Robot Framework, Postman, Appium, Cucumber, Selenium, TestNG
  • Experience with Kubernetes, cluster management, microservices and distributed architecture, Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Big Data technologies: HDFS, Hive
  • Experience in ETL testing and data validation scripting; hands-on knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data validation strategies

Responsibilities

  • Manage a global team of QA engineers across test planning, case creation, execution, and release management
  • Design and implement AI-driven automation frameworks, reusable DAGs, libraries, and components to reduce time-to-market
  • Serve as the primary QA liaison with business users, project/product managers, development teams, and senior leadership for major testing initiatives
  • Engage with the testing of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner
  • Monitor and control activities according to plan
  • Coordinate testing schedules across multiple teams; facilitate defect triage, release planning, and retrospective sessions
  • Champion AI and LLM adoption; mentor the team on emerging QA technologies and automation best practices
  • Establish JIRA boards, scheduled workflows, GitHub governance, and test management standards
  • Own UAT and production parallel regression suites for major transformation initiatives; develop testing process protocols to enhance post-deployment production stability
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team; manage performance, career progression, and compliance standards

You will lead QA for a portfolio of mission-critical risk and data management systems supporting business areas such as Structured Rates Trading, Counterparty Risk, GRM, Front Office, etc, as well as the cross business program covering Risk Modernization. This is a high-visibility role with direct business impact. You will lead a team of QA Engineers managing end-to-end testing across complex, interconnected systems, collaborate with business stakeholders and application teams to ensure high quality testing deliverables. You’ll also be responsible to lead development of reusable automation frameworks, DAGs, libraries, and components, to support testing across a range of applications. You will mentor test engineers on modern development and testing techniques, champion AI-driven automation, and deepen knowledge of Capital Markets technology.

What Will You Do
