Associate Director, Products and Hedging Solutions

Aon is seeking an Associate Director, Products and Hedging Solutions within Aon Reinsurance, located in Toronto, Ontario.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility to work both remotely and from our Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build and maintain Economic Scenario Generators for valuing financial assets and insurance liabilities.
  2. Lead Daily Hedge Reporting and P&L Analysis services for clients.
  3. Develop and implement innovative hedging and asset management strategies in PathWise to manage complex risks involving actuarial, financial, and capital markets.
  4. Create, maintain, and document sophisticated financial asset and liability models in PathWise to support investment and risk management projects.
  5. Participate in quantitative research, applying skills such as time series regressions, optimization, Monte Carlo simulation, and data visualization.
  6. Enhance processes for hedging, strategic asset allocation, scenario generator calibration, and financial reporting for insurance companies.
  7. Support portfolio managers, traders, and risk managers with analysis of risk, return, transaction costs, and market impact.

This position supports the Products and Hedging Solutions services by developing and analyzing hedging and asset allocation strategies within the PathWise platform, including designing new financial models and processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. 8+ years of experience as a quantitative analyst in investment management, risk management, hedging, or model vetting roles.
  2. Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance); PhD preferred.
  3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and programming skills in Python; experience with quantitative finance libraries in Python or C++.
  4. Expertise in financial assets, derivatives valuation models, stochastic interest rate, equity, and credit models.
  5. Knowledge of statistics, mathematical finance, and economics.
  6. Proficiency in Monte Carlo simulation, optimization, time series analysis, and PDE techniques.
  7. Excellent communication skills for team and client interactions.
  8. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  9. Experience with financial software such as Numerix or FinCAD is a plus.
