Job summary

Agam Capital in Toronto, Canada, seeks a senior actuary/finance professional to lead analysis and reporting for life and annuity insurance. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in life and annuity insurance with combined finance and actuarial experience.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, results analysis and actuarial modelling for life and annuity business.
• Superior experience analyzing financial data and communicating to stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of IFRS or US GAAP reporting requirements.
• Experience with Bermuda rules and regulations an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review and analysis of financial and regulatory capital results to support strategic decision making.
• Prepare explanations of financial and regulatory capital results for executive management and the board.
• Support the annual budget and forecasting process through cross-functional collaboration.
• Support capital and liquidity forecasting and planning, including scenario and stress analysis.
• Collaborate with the actuarial valuation team to ensure results are reasonable and provide inputs for analysis.
• Assist with accounting and regulatory reporting (e.g., US GAAP, Bermuda statutory).
• Day-to-day support for internal and external audits.
• Support emerging business needs including reinsurance, legal entities, regulatory and business transaction analysis.
• Monitor and support compliance with reinsurance treaty requirements.

Job description

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Review and analysis of financial and regulatory capital results, trends and variances to support strategic decision making
• Prepare and help explain financial and regulatory capital results in a clear, insightful way for executive management and the board
• Support the annual budget and forecasting process through cross-functional collaboration
• Support capital and liquidity forecasting and planning, including scenario and stress analysis to inform capital management and dividend capacity decisions
• Work closely with the actuarial valuation team to ensure results are reasonable and to produce required inputs to support analysis; assist with modelling as needed
• Assist with the preparation of accounting (e.g. US GAAP) and Bermuda statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting
• Day-to-day contact supporting internal and external audits
• Support emerging business needs and corporate development initiatives including, but not limited to reinsurance, legal entity, regulatory and business transaction analysis
• Monitor and support compliance with reinsurance treaty requirements

Qualifications:
